LOOKING AT ST LOUIS HOTELS FOR THE SEC TOURNAMENT

I was in fairly good spirits last Saturday when we hit the road for Lexington despite knowing the fate of the discussion we were about to have with my good friend Aaron(@adirish) , and his wife Amanda.  We met up with our Lexington friends for food and drinks before we took a short Uber ride to Rupp Arena for the game against Missouri.  Our group had some previous discussions about our annual SEC Tournament trip being in some doubt this season for various reason but I had kept our room reservation open in the hopes that things may shake out differently.  As the date has grown closer it has only become clearer that the trip just wasn't going to work out this year.  Cancelling a hotel room is always a difficult thing for me because it esentially closes the door on a trip that me, and those traveling with me, had been looking forward to for a while.  I started goint to the SEC Tournament on an annual basis 15 years ago with @patchking22 before Aaron started going, which has now evolved into a larger group of us, our wives, our friends and also all the other  regulars of BBN that we enjoy hanging out with every year.   So missing out on all that fun next weekend is a hard pill to swallow but we are hoping to get together and watch the games to ease that disappointment.

Still Some Good Rates Out There

I couldn't just cancel the reservation that I had made back in March of last year without checking current availability…you know..just in case.  It made it easier to cancel knowing that if I found a way to make the trip that there are still some moderately priced rooms out there, especially in comparison to the past years in Nashville.   Our trip was planned for a Thursday arrival with a Sunday departure and when checking rooms just nine days from that previously planned arrival, I am still finding plenty of good options.    Booking.com is showing several options at what they label a Great Value.  I would highly encourage anyone who has already booked a room to check their hotel's current rate, the possibility exists that your rate may have dropped and you can rebook if you booked with a flexible cancellation policy.

It Should Be A Great SEC Tournament

I have to admit that two weeks ago, the thought of giving up on St Louis wasn't nearly as difficult as it is now.  The Cats seem to have found themselves just in time for the postseason and that may get some of the BBN to St Louis who may have been on the fence about going.  Factor in the possible addition of Michael Porter Jr to the Missouri team and the overall quality in the league this season, and you have the makings for a pretty good conference tournament.  Hopefully the Wildcats have a good run in St Louis for the BBN that made the trip…and the one's who will be watching from home.

Speaking Of Wildcats Making A Run In St Louis

These guys had a pretty good showing there back in 1978.  Thanks for reading…Go Cats!!
