SEVEN ITEMS TO IMPROVE YOUR TAILGATE

Why seven?  In the words of UK Football …why not?   There are also seven home games at Kroger Field, meaning you could add one of these items for each game.  The items on the list could help make your tailgate a memorable one for all the right reasons.  Let's take a look at, in no particular order, the items on the list.

1.     The Tunes2Go Cooler

Ordinarily, I would prefer my sound systems and my coolers to be seperate but this list is not about ordinary.  The Tunes2Go cooler takes care of two tailgate essentials in one product.  Maybe after a few of those cold beverages plug into the mic input and start your karaoke party in the parking lot.   Your tailgate neighbors will likely be looking for any other vacant parking spot, but you will be having fun. The Tunes2Go cooler is availble at Amazon.com.

2.    Put On Your Drinking Vest

Is it time to check out some of the other tailgates and you don't feel like hauling that cooler around?   The EZ Drinker Drink Vest is the perfect solution to that dilemna.  Load up with 12 cans (just in case you get lost) for that trek around the parking lot.  Maybe you just need the extra cooler space and now you can wear your cans instead of taking up all of that extra room.   Now your hands are free to toss that football around or to hold up your lightweight buddies.

3.  Strap One On

This one leans more novelty than practicality.  The Wyndham Dual Tank Beverage Dispenser Backpack is essentially a portable keg.  You could fill the dispensers with beverage of your choice and freely walk around your party or tailgate.  Add a solo cup holster and you are ready to extinguish some thirst.

4.  Smuggler's Blues

It's time for kickoff but that doesn't mean the tailgate party has to end.   While I've never known anyone to have trouble slipping their favorite adult beverage past the entry points into a UK football game,  these booze bags will help increase your chances of taking the party inside Kroger Field.  SEC football may soon see the day when alcohol sales are allowed,  but until then this is your best option outside of dropping a load of cash on a suite.

5.  Light It Up

There isn't a better UK sporting event to attend than a football game at night.  By mid October those 7pm kickoffs can make navigating around your tailgate a bit more difficult.  If you happened to be using one of the above products it may have been lights out for you by 5pm, but for the rest of us, darkness is a more natural process.   Solar powered rope lights will keep your tailgate lit (as the kids like to say) through the night.  They come in different colors, but we have to go for the blue ones.

6   Toss Your Bags

Walk through the parking lot on game day and you will see a variety of tailgate games.  Here is a quick tip,  it's never  a good idea to play some kind of frisbee game where the object is it to hit the pole you set up next to your neighbor's tailgate.  (Note to self…don't park next to those people again).   Playing cornhole won't make your tailgate unique, but let's not mess with a game that you can play with one hand while holding your drink in the other.   Tailgating and cornhole ..if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.  There are plenty of Kentucky themed boards out there.

7    Keep Your Mug Warm

This one combines a bit of ridiculousness with some practicality.  Eventually,  there will be a game where you are looking for ways to stay warm during the tailgate.  Is there a better way to keep warm above your neck than with a nice warm hat and a big beard?   Yes,  a nice warm hat and beard in your team colors. Just envision your entire tailgate wearing these.
