Cats Win Opener
It was the first full Saturday of the college football season, and the comfort of my recliner made me forget about the wet weather outside. The Cats had a rare opener on the road, which was fine by me, given the dismal conditions. It certainly wasn't the prettiest of games to watch. UK went on to win, despite an early turnover, a highly questionable USM first down and some head scratching stubborness regarding their Wildcat formation. I won't get into too much analysis, as there are plenty of sites for that, but I thought the Cats played pretty well on defense and special teams. Before we start looking ahead to the home opener against EKU, here are some stories and breakdowns of Saturday's win.

The new punter had a big role in the victory. His punts that pinned USM close to the goal line nearly led to a safety on more than one occasion.
If you were following Twitter comments during the game, you saw your fellow Wildcat fans getting frustrated with Kentucky stubbornly continue to run the Wildcat formation. Hear it from the man calling the plays.
Here is the report from the Herald Leader's Jen Smith on everything Coach Stoops had to say.

In between twitter rants about the inept results of running the Wildcat, the BBN was busy passing this story around.
Time to move ahead
After that last link I'm not sure I can continue with this post. It is time to get outside and get some fresh air. While that was a bit on the disgusting side, I think I may have rather do a shot from that garbage bag than see another Wildcat formation on 3rd and inches. GET UP UNDER CENTER AND POWER THAT DAMN BALL!! Ok, that is out of my system. So now we have a game against EKU to work out some of the issues before SEC play begins. Let's hope we get some nice weather for the early tailgating and a nice comfortable win . Thanks for a taking a few moments to read.
