A LOOK AT THE UK BASKETBALL SCHEDULE

We now have tip times to go along with most of the dates on the Kentucky Basketball schedule.  Let's take a look at some of the most amticipated dates.

Top 3 Away Dates on the UK Basketball Schedule

1. January 27 at West Virgina

The West Virginia road test tops the list simply because of the test itself.    The Mountaineers are projected to be a top 10 team and their fanbase in Morgantown will be in top form when the Cats come to town.  I know #BlueGetsIn , but this will also be the toughest away game ticket to attain.  If you are headed to Morgantown be prepared to pony up if you want to see this one.

2.  November 14 vs Kansas in Chicago

The only thing that could make this night any better would be to have two top 5 teams play on the same court prior to the UK game.  The four teams that make up the Champions Classic may very well be the top four teams in the nation when this tips off,  which is part of what makes this one of my favorite annual events.  While the Indy location works best for most of BBN,  Chicago has been a good host to this event and there will be plenty of UK blue in the Windy City to share your Chicago style pizza with.   If you have the chance, stay at the Conrad Chicago.  It's located along the Magnificent Mile.

3.  December 23 vs UCLA in New Orleans

I admit, I was a bit bummed when the date for this one was announced.   I have had some good times in the Big Easy, with and without other UK fans there,  but the Saturday just two days before Christmas is going to be hard for many with young families to attend.   There will still be a large BBN presence in and around the French Quarter, and the reports from there are sure to make me envious.   Get in touch with UK basketball history and stay where the 2012 NCAA champions stayed,  at the  CrownePlaza   on  the corner of Bourbon and Canal.  I have stayed in this great hotel that has a fantastic location.

Honorable Mentions

There are a few SEC games that should also be of high interest.  The two games against the Missouri really stand out to me.  I would have probably put the December 9 game in the top 3 had it been against a stronger opponent.  The date falls in a good spot between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and many UK fans love to travel to New York City.   Aside from a few early season snoozers, it's another strong schedule that should also a feature a more competitive SEC slate.  So start getting those travel plans set, it won't be long now.  Thanks for reading, Go Cats!
