FLORIDA LOSS WAS TOUGH ON THIS UK FAN

It has been a tough week for UK fans after losing a heartbreaker against the Gators in Kroger Field.   My schedule has kept me too busy to blog since then,  but it has taken me until the next game to pull me out of the doldrums.  There isn't too much to say that hasn't already been said about last Saturday  so I will accentuate the post with a series of  videoclips and photos from our day at Kroger Field.

A Great Start To Our Tailgating Experience

I am still surprised that the setup at the Bluegrass RV lot doesn't draw more attention.  I understand if you have a large tailgate group of your own, but if you ever get to the lots early enough and it's just you and your spouse or friend, this is a great way to start.   We stumbled upon this last year when parking towards the back end of the Orange Lot.  One of the friendly folks there told us to grab a plate and get some grub and we've made sure to check it out ever since.  The KSR guys start their pregame show from there so we like to make a plate and grab an  adult beverage from one of their coolers and enjoy the surroundings.  Those surroundings include several RV's on display and are great for those colder days when you can step inside and warm up while  catching  a few plays of any of the ongoing NCAA football games.

The Atmosphere Inside Kroger Field

I know there are some long timers who have had season tickets for much longer than our 11 years, but I have not personally experienced  a better atmosphere from start to finish.  The Kentucky fans stood and were loud the entire game.  I was physically ,and due to the heartbreaking way the game ended, emotionally spent at the end of the game.   Heading into the 4th most of us were preparing ourselves for a long postgame celebration of relieving ourselves from a 30 year weight on our shoulders.  The rollercoaster of emotions over the last few minutes of the game was enough to drain the heartiest of fans.

Parking Lot Disappointment

It was like a scene from a zombie movie after the final horn sounded.  A silent mass of blue clad fans shuffling back to their cars, only to wait another 90 minutes to move towards the interstate.  On may way through the concourse I looked up to find a dejected looking Kevin Richardson right next to me.  I gave the Backstreet Boy a pat on the back (he was right there, I couldn't help it) and a word of encouragement.  I can't end this post with these heartbreaking, so let's go out with a bounce back theme from Richardson's Backstreet Boys.  Thanks for reading..hang in there Cat fans.
